Users

To add a user, do the following:

·           Use the User drop-down menu to select a user to add.

·           Click the [Add User] button. The system adds the user to the Users table, but no permissions or licenses are assigned to the user.  The user can log in to the Dealer Gateway web site, but has no access to any features and does not have any licenses assigned.  Edit the user to assign permissions and/or licenses.
Note: The User drop-down list displays all users defined in e-automate for whom the Active box is checked in Employees/Contractors.  The Users grid displays all users who have been added to the grid from this Users page.  If a user is inactivated in e-automate, the user remains in this Users grid until a Dealer Gateway administrator removes the user from the grid using this Users page.
Note: The Dealer Gateway admin user should change the admin login and password after first logging in to Dealer Gateway to set up permissions and product licenses.  Once an e-automate user is added to this Users grid, the e-automate user will log in to the Dealer Gateway web site using: Dealer number, e-automate user name, and e-automate password.

To edit a user, do the following:

1.         In the Users grid, click the Edit link for the user you want to update.  An Edit User area opens.

2.         Do the following:

a.         User name: Displays the user's user name.  Verify you have selected the correct user to update.

b.         Full name: Displays the user's full name.  Verify you have selected the correct user to update.

c.         Permissions: To update the user's Dealer Gateway permissions, do the following:

·           View Items: Check this box to give this user permission to view equipment, supply, and parts items.

·           View Meters: Check this box to give this user permission to view meters via the Meters tile.

·           Sync items: Check this box to give this user permission to sync data with the e-automate software.

·           Manage Dealer Profile: Check this box to give this user access to the Dealer Profiles page to manage dealer profiles. A user with Dealer Profile permission can access the Dealer Profile, Templates, Vendors, and Service Call pages.

·           Manage Partner Settings: Check this box to give this user access to the Partner Settings page to manage partner settings.
Note: This box must be checked for a user to use Background Item Matching.

·           Manage Users: Check this box to give this user access to this Users page to manager user permissions and licensed product assignments.
Note: If you check all the permissions boxes for a user, the Users table displays Admin in the Permissions column for the user.

d.         Product Name: Use the Product Name drop-down to select a license type, such as DeskTech, to add for this user.  Then click [Add License] to assign the specified license to the user.

3.         Click [Done] to save these changes, updating the Users and the Licensed products grids.

To remove a user, do the following:

1.         In the Users grid, click the Remove link for the user you want to remove from Dealer Gateway.
Note: Verify you are selecting the user you want to remove before clicking the Remove link.  The user is removed from the Users grid when the Remove link is clicked; you are not prompted to verify you have selected the correct user.

To view the history of user licensing additions and changes, do the following:

1.         From the Users page, click the [View History] button below the table in the Licensed products region.  The system displays the View History page.



The View History page displays the Update date and the Description for each of the following events:

·           An ECi administrator sets up a license for the Dealer Gateway dealer administrator.

·           An ECi administrator changes a license for the Dealer Gateway dealer administrator.

·           The Dealer Gateway dealer administrator assigns a license to a user.

·           The Dealer Gateway dealer administrator releases a license from a user.

2.         When finished viewing the user licensing history, click [Close] to return to the Users page.
